Playground Violence is an interdisciplinary project that starts from a friendly looking game in which the violence increases. This game, were we are all familiar with (think of the musical chairs game, student baptism, etc.), puts the idea violence in a reverse order. Mostly we see violence in big and historical events, rather far away from our personal being and behaviour. Playground Violence indicates that historical and particular violence are connected close to each other. Both speak the same language with different accents. Violence is not just an external event but a close, internal happening that can be triggered easily when driven by the 'good' circumstances. The first state of the ongoing Playground Violence project characterises via multiple drawings the role patterns and possible attitudes of victims and whodunits (offenders). Also it investigates the sensations between the protagonist and the spectator. The line between them becomes very equalised. Balanced around a spot of conflict (photographic projection) the first state of Playground Violence will be revealed at gallery arts&parts (Gent, Belgium) during november 2016.
